309. Ski & Swap

Remember a few months ago (has it really been that long!?) the ski sale at the State Fair?

Well, the ski & swap sale is basically the same thing.

If you didn’t get a chance to go to the ski sale then, here’s your chance now.

134. Race for the Cure

hero_newsarticle_race-for-the-cureThis Saturday, May 18th at 8am (the actual race starts at 10) is one of those local runs that attracts thousands of people. The Race for the Cure is definitely one of the most fun events of the Spring. It’s got a lot of participants, live music throughout the race, tons of spectators and more.

I ran this 5k last year and was totally motivated by all of the passion and excitement of all the runners. There were men wearing pink tutu’s and breast cancer t-shirts, groups of people with cool team names, survivors and supporters amongst the crowd of runners/walkers.

This event helps support local Breast Cancer programs, with 75% of proceeds going directly to them. For more information about donating click here.

To register for the run click here, and they’re still looking for volunteers!

Tip: This event attracts a lot of people, parking will be exactly how it is for the Fair…lots of walking!

45. CNY Boat Show

boatshow

If there were ever a tease for warmer weather it is a boat show in the middle of February… but, with that being said… I think it’s just about that time where we need it… we’ve been hovering around the 30 degree temps for a few weeks with little peaks of sunshine & we’re on the eve of Winterfest… we need this.

Even if you’re not in the market for a boat, it’s suggested you go & check them out anyways… which, in my opinion is kind of fun! There will be over 500 boats at the fairgrounds to admire and explore from speedboats to sailboats to pontoons and more…

Admission is $10 per person, children under 13 are free!

Runs from Feb 13th to Feb 17th

Wed-Friday- 1pm – 9pm
Sat- 10am – 9pm
Sun- 10am – 5pm

Boats will be on display in the Center of Progress, Horticulture Building, and the huge Toyota Exhibition Building.

Tip: Stop by Dunkin Donuts for a $2 discount admission coupon
