332. Dickens Christmas

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

We’re now exactly 33 days until New Years Eve. How exciting is that?!

This blog has come a long way, and I’m so thankful for all of my supporters, readers, likes, and the activities in Syracuse for giving me a reason to blog! It’s been quite the ride so far, I can’t believe we’re almost done.

One of my favorite things to do in Syracuse is to head out of town for a few hours…weird, right? A blog about things to do IN syracuse, and the person writing it likes to leave the city every once in a while… but hear me out….

Sometimes, you have to shake it up a little and the best way to do that is to explore areas around you. I’ve got a serious case of chronic wanderlust. I’m always looking for a new adventure, and sometimes..the most exciting things are happening outside of our city.

Tomorrow, for example, Skaneateles is hosting their annual Dickens Christmas celebration. It’s one of the most beautiful and interactive christmas activities in all of upstate NY…and it’s exciting to be a part of something so special.

It includes horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, strolling dickens characters performing interactive street theater, free roasted chestnuts, hot chocolate and more.

It’s really really special. I strongly encourage people to check this out, it’s a beautiful experience. Especially in the quaint town of Skaneateles. The town sets a nostaligic backdrop for a Dickens christmas spectacular..

If you’re avoiding the black friday sales, this is a great alternative. If you’ve already got your heart set on those door buster sales, don’t worry…there are always other weekends. The christmas parade is also on the 30th, December 1, 7 & 8th.

Tip: It starts at noon and lasts 4 hours.

location: Skaneateles
